Christof Schläger: Inside-Outside

"Inside-Outside is a sound installation consisting of 80 noise-making objects especially made for the space of the convent. The circular installation is a system of 16 sleep sounds and 64 quack tins. It is a play of atmospehric (inside) and dry (outside) sounds."

Christof Schläger is a sound artist, who lives and works in Herne, Germany. He was born in 1958 in Beuthen (formerly Upper Silesia) and moved to Germany in 1968. After his studies in engineering, he made his first sound performance in the first half of the 1980s. Since 1987, he has led many exhibition projects at Maschinenhalle Teutoburgia and started the Kunst-Wald Park in Herne. He has participated in many multimedia events, concerts and festivals in Germany and abroad, such as in Krakow, Lille, Barcelona, New York, Tel Aviv, Hong Kong, Helsinki, Shanghai, Amsterdam, often in cooperation with the Goethe-Institute. He lives and works as a freelance artist in Herne and Amstelveen.
