In November Wakushoppu will present the clarinetist Beth Custer, Emmy Award-winning composer, performer and musician, the current Agosto Foundation Artist in Residence.

 

Since the 1990s, Custer has repeatedly participated in various audiovisual projects in the Czech Republic. The project of her current residency is the composition of music for silent films for an evening of screenings with live musicians, to be held on 4 December, 2018, at the Cinema Ponrepo. Participating musicians will include Pavel Fajt (percussion), Martin Alaçam (guitar), Vladimír Václavek (bass), Lloyd Dunn (electronics) and František Skála as narrator.

About the event.

At Wakushoppu, Custer will be followed by composer, filmmaker, and organizer of the experimental sound art festival Echofluxx in Prague Dan Senn, who will present a quadraphonic sound work with projection.

Wakushoppu is a noncommercial platform for improvisational music and art. Improvisation, works-in-progress, short-term and temporary collaborations, audio, video, performance, etc., organized by Petr Ference and Tomáš Procházka. The series has run since 2010, generally taking place on the first Thursday of each month at Punctum-Krásovka.
